Something is Changing

Something is changing in in childhood and much of our education system

is still not fully acknowledging it.

Children are arriving in schools with different developmental experiences than ever before.

More screen exposure.

Less movement, Less climbing, rolling, balancing, crawling, squeezing, spinning and sensory play.

Yet we are still expecting children to sit, write, regulate and focusas though nothing has changed.

Digital childhood is becoming one of the invisible factors impacting behaviour, attention, emotional regulation and physical developmentwithin our classrooms.

And this is why your work matters so much.

Shonette Bason

Every time you lead Dough Disco, Squiggle While You Wiggle, the magic three, sensory activities or playful physical learning you are not 'filling time.' You are building foundations.

You are supporting:

  • hand strength and fine motor development
  • brain-body connection
  • balance, coordination and core stability
  • communication and regulation
  • confidence, belonging and wellbeing

Movement based learning is not a trend. It is a developmental necessity in modern childhood.

The schools making the biggest difference are not the ones pushing children harder academically earlier and earlier, they are the ones understanding what children now need developmentally!

Please Keep Going

The impact of this work is often quiet, gradual and invisible at first, but it changes children from the foundations upwards.

And that changes everything.
